Patricia Cahill Taft's artistic eye was sharpened along the historic waterfront of Boston's North Shore where her family was involved in a wide range of maritime activities. After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Salem State College, she continued her education at Massachusetts College of Art and Montserrat College of Art.

During her innovational career, Patricia has found herself working as jewelry designier, swimming instructor, graphic artist, tour boat operator, photographer, lighthouse keeper, and singer. Her lighthouse stint involved four winters alone on a secluded island off the coast of Massachusetts, offering invaluable inspiration to develop her artistic skills. She moved to Newport, Rhode Island in 1992 realizing it was the perfect setting to pursue her passion for maritime subjects and countless others.
Cahill Taft has had numerous shows both solo and with other artists. Exhibit locations include: The Museum of Yachting, The Newport Art Museum; International Yacht Restoration School; Gallery 297; and Sheldon Fine Art Gallery. Her accolades include: first place in the Kodak International Newspaper Snapshot Award; Marblehead Arts Festival; and finalist in the United States National Fine Arts Competition and International Exhibition.
At present, Cahill Taft continues to exercise her right-brained passions. Along with her lifelong pursuit of painting, she is evolving with the times to the more technical realm of computer graphics and digital photography. She has been recently designing everything from CD covers to game packaging, and finds herself photographing everything from classic yachts to classic politicians! Her a cappella quartet, the Alley cats (www.4alleycats.com), has been entertaining audiences for years.
Patricia Cahill Taft's artwork has managed to find homes all over the world. Her list of collectors include Twentieth Century Fox; The Ambassador to Thailand; and Laurie Cabot (the Official Witch of Salem).
